:: FAQ (Frequently Asked
Questions )
What
type of estimate can be expected?
|
The cost of the generator and its installation is similar
to that of a conventional heating system, and will give the
same type of service; the only additional cost will be for the
energy sensors.
|
Can I change
heating system if I wish to in the future?
|
Yes, there is no obstacle to doing so.
|
What
area of land do I need to have available?
|
For every square metre of area to be heated inside the building
you will need to have 1.5 square metres of land.
|
Is
the consumption indicated in real terms?
|
Yes, the consumption levels are detailed in each project,
with a comparative analysis of costs and consumption levels
over a 20 year period.
|
Is
there a special type of maintenance which is required?
|
No
|
Is
this energy free?
|
Yes. The heat which is stored in the ground is obtained without
cost and is, moreover, renewable.
|
Can
the heating system be relied on during the winter period?
|
Yes. Even in the most extreme climates and with the most extreme
oscillations in thermal temperature.
|
What
plants can I have in my garden?
|
Any type of plant or shrub, even including trees, as long
as they have been anticipated in the original project (in the
case of horizontal collection). In the case of vertical collection
there is no limitation whatsoever.
|
Is
this system totally safe?
|
Yes. It is safe and reliable. All the component parts of
which it is made up have been subjected to strict technical
checks.

|
Is
it true that radiant floor heating is an extremely comfortable system?
|
Yes. It is in fact a system of unrivalled effectiveness which
meets the thermal requirements of the buildings where it is
installed, allowing for ideal conditions of distribution of
heat.
|
Can
geothermal heating be installed in a building already constructed?
|
There is no reason why this should not be possible. The only
thing that needs to be done is to examine the existing system,
the system of collection to be used, and to carry out the preliminary
study.
|
Can
I also cool the house in summer?
|
Yes. The radiant floor system is used for cooling buildings
during the summer; all you need to do is adjust the settings
and controls to achieve the best parameters.
|
How
is the domestic hot water produced?
|
The geothermal generator includes equipment for producing
domestic hot water connected to a hot-water storage tank.
|
Is
it possible to drive through the area where the sensors are installed?
|
Yes. Motor vehicles such as cars and trucks can drive through
the area used without causing problems of any kind.
|
Can
the zone used for geothermal collection become exhausted?
|
No. The energy contained in the collection zone is constantly
renewed. The collection zone is inexhaustible.

|
Is
the type of terrain used important?
|
No. The terrain defines the quantity of renewable energy available;
the nature of the terrain will provide us with data to classify
each area into different grades in terms of yield.

|
Does
the radiant floor system have harmful effects on the legs with regard
to the circulation of the blood?
|
Studies have been made of the effects on health in this respect,
and it can be affirmed that the radiant floor system is a healthy
and hygienic system that constitutes an installation of the
highest quality.
The first radiant floors installed (50 years ago) used water
at a temperature of about 60°C, and produced thermal zones that
were harmful for health. The temperature of the water used to
heat floors is nowadays in the region of 35°C.
|
Can
swimming-pool water be heated?
|
Through a ¨swimming-pool kit¨ included in the installation,
the geothermal generator can heat water up to 28 °C., or
even higher.
